What I Believe

The Holy Bible, comprising of the Old Testament and New Testament, and excluding any Apocryphal book, is the revealed Word of God given by the inspiration of God and written down by holy men as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The Bible has been preserved from error and is therefore absolutely correct and reliable concerning all the things it teaches. It is the final authority on doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness. No other document is “scripture” and all claims of revelations are true only to the extent that they are supported by the Bible.
[br /] GOD

I believe in the existence of God as the trinity of the Persons of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit who are co-eternal, co-equal and co-existent. God is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent.

I believe that God, in the beginning, created time, space and substance (matter and spirit), bringing them forth in the form of the heavens and the earth. The actual moment of this ‘beginning’ is not revealed, neither is its knowledge essential to salvation. God set all things in their places and established the rules by which the entirety of existence is governed, down to the minutest detail. He is at once both intimately involved with, as well as exalted far above creation. All living creatures live because of the life received from God who alone has life in Himself. [br /]

I believe God created spirit beings called “angels” to serve in various offices as messengers. They are therefore also referred to as “hosts of heaven”. Angels are personal beings – not ideas, inclinations, principles or “forces”. They are persons. Not physical persons but persons all the same who are free moral agents with ability to make choices. Those that chose to rebel against God's interest are known as demons and their chief is Satan. They are still operational today pending the time of their final judgement, and therefore the reality of spiritual warfare to steadfastly resist them in the authority of Jesus Christ.

I believe that humanity came by the creation of a single Man, Adam, who was created grownup, complete and perfect as a triune being of spirit, soul and body. There was no gradual development from pre-human forms. The original sin of Adam resulted in utter depravity of human nature, which necessitates repentance and regeneration to restore back to God or, eternal doom of the finally impenitent.

I believe that the historical Jesus of Nazareth was the incarnation of the eternal Word, God the Son. I believe in His conception by the Holy Spirit, virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, triumphant resurrection and the abiding intercession now in heaven. I believe in His Second Coming, millennial reign upon the earth and His final judgement of the living and the dead.

I believe that spiritual salvation is salvation from sin - its penalty, its power and its very presence in man. I believe that salvation is a gift of God by grace alone which must be received by man through faith in the finished work of Christ. I believe in possibility of a person once genuinely saved, eventually falling from the saving grace, though never on account of an inability of God to keep such a one, but of a rebellious person to willfully and insistently despise the free divine grace which God will not coerce on man's freedom of choice.

I believe that the real Church is the fellowship of all those who have been genuinely saved, apart from those who merely attend or in any other way associate with outward Christian congregations. I believe in the leadership of the Church premised on the special call of God to the five-fold ministry of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. I believe that the sacraments of the Church are baptism in water by immersion and the Holy Communion. I believe in the continuing presence and work of the Holy Spirit in the Church which include the baptism in the Holy Spirit with signs following according to the variable manifestations of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

The Church is the pillar and the ground of the truth. There is no truth outside of the Church. Any semblance of truth in any other institution is only the mere manifestation of gracious gleanings received through the light shone from the Church.

I believe the prophecies of the Scripture concerning:
• The Second Coming of Jesus Christ, the Rapture of the Saints and the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.
• The appearance and activities of the Antichrist and the Beast, and the seven-year Tribulation
• The Millenium reign of Christ and the subsequent casting of Satan into the Lake of Fire.
• Resurrection of the rest of the dead. Judgement before the Great White Throne of Christ. Destruction of Death and Hell.
• Passing away of the present heaven and earth. Coming down of New Jerusalem.
• Eternity of blessed existence of the righteous with God and of everlasting torment of the wicked in the Lake of Fire.
